Salvatore’s to build new boutique hotel: “The Delavan”
January 16th, 2015
The proud family tradition continues. Joseph and Paula Salvatore along with their children Josette, Russell and Nicholas, are planning to build a brand new 60 room Boutique Hotel and Spa alongside and attached to the legendary Salvatore’s Italian Gardens Restaurant located at 6461 Transit Road in Lancaster, NY.
The Delavan, is appropriately named as a fitting tribute to the original J. Salvatore’s Restaurant, opened by Salvatore’s grandfather in the late 1930’s on Delavan Avenue in downtown Buffalo, NY. “We’re a 4th generation family owned business” says Joseph Salvatore, “it’s an honor and a privilege for us to be continuing the legacy that my grandfather started. We have all grown up in this business and for us, this is the next natural step of our life-long journey in it.” As for the building itself Salvatore adds: “We’re are happy to have selected another 4th generation family owned business by teaming up with Concept Construction Corporation to be our Construction Manager.” Russell Salvatore of Salvatore’s had this to say about the project “ We have a great team and are excited with what the future holds. I loved seeing this all come together.” Matt Shevlin, President of Concept Construction Corporation in Elma NY had this to say about the relationship. “Our two companies have very similar stories on how our business began.” explains Shevlin, “We respect these family traditions and are very proud to be a part of this project.”
Architect Steve Carmina of Carmina Wood Morris and the Salvatore family have come together to create and complete the hotel’s unique boutique style and elaborate design.
At an estimated cost of $9.5million, the initial plans call for the 44,000 square foot hotel to be attached to the legendary world class Salvatore’s Italian Gardens Restaurant. With an early 2015 ground breaking planned, the project is estimated to be complete by Winter 2016. Built for comfort, highlights of the 4 story structure include 60 elegantly appointed, luxury style suites, large hallways and a spacious lobby. Other upscale amenities include a full spa from the award winning Capello’s Salon and Day Spa, offering hair, manicure and pedicure services, a fitness center, and the newest in integrated electronic technology. Once complete, the expanded Salvatore experience will now include The Delavan which promises to carry on with the rich family history by continuing to provide exceptional service, a celebrated dining experience and now the finest in a boutique style lodging.
